Tenure-Track Position in Marine Biology, Ecology or Biological Oceanography

Department of Oceanography, National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), Kaohsiung, Taiwan

National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) is one of Taiwan’s leading research universities (https://ocean.nsysu.edu.tw/?Lang=en). Located along the scenic coastline of Kaohsiung—Taiwan’s lively “Southern Capital”—NSYSU offers a unique blend of beautiful natural surroundings and urban convenience. The university overlooks both mountains and the beach, and the city of 2.7 million provides excellent international access through Kaohsiung International Airport, a comprehensive public transit system, and a diverse array of cultural and culinary experiences.

The College of Marine Sciences has been a nationally supported center of excellence since the 1980s, strategically situated near the seaport and the open ocean. NSYSU also operates an 800-ton research vessel (https://or3.nsysu.edu.tw/?Lang=en), providing strong support for oceanographic research and education.

The Department of Oceanography is looking for a tenure-track faculty member specializing in Marine Biology, Ecology, or Biological Oceanography.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline. Recent Ph.D. recipients should have at least two years of postdoctoral experience.
2. A minimum of two years of combined doctoral and postdoctoral research conducted outside Taiwan.
3. Ability to teach in both Mandarin and English.
4. A strong record of research publications.

Rank and salary will be based on the candidate’s experience and achievements. Positions will be open until filled.
